WHAT IS BA ZI?

Ba Zi – The Eight Pillars of Destiny

The study of personality types, so popular today, was already a specialty of the ancient Taoist teachings: the first Ba Zi treatises date back to more than 3000 years.

Traditionally, this art of Destiny is not taught in a structured way: the student followed the master for many years and learned from experience. So it is a very rare opportunity to study this discipline as a structured methodology best suited to our modern lifestyle.

Ba Zi means “Eight Characters”: each individual is born under the influence of eight basic energy potentials, based on the principles of Yin and Yang as well as the interaction of the Five Elements.

The aim of Ba Zi is to analyze, for oneself and for other people, the influences of these values that determine personality, but especially to understand more about ourselves to use our full resources.

These Eight Pillars of Destiny are universal tendencies; being the foundation of our character, each will be expressed in all aspects of our lives:

  • The relationship to oneself and the world;
  • The visible character traits, but also hidden motivations and resources;
  • Behavioral tendencies in major types of relationships: professional, social, intimate and secret;
  • The family situation and the personal relationship to the ancestors, parents, siblings and children;
  • Temporal cycles of our life: childhood, adolescence, adulthood and the end of life;
  • The relation to the various aspects of our humanity: physical, emotional, relational and spiritual …

These lessons are a great help to know ourselves better, in our strengths and blockages, but also to understand the others, find the source of misunderstandings that punctuate our interactions, and improve our capacity for empathy and communication.

In addition, knowing how to recognize the strengths and weaknesses of each person in a given situation through the Ba Zi analysis methods, it becomes easier to realize any project , since we shall see more clearly how to approach it, and which person to address in order to achieve it.

Finally, the Ba Zi will make us better understand the celestial elements that influenced our earthly incarnation, including the legacy of our ancestors, but also the choices that have been made prior to our conception, and the path we can walk.

Our personal achievement depends on the understanding and acceptance of the imperfections of this earthly manifestation, to overcome them and move us closer to the Way of Heaven.

PERSONAL READINGS FOR 2026
Bing Wu : Yang Fire Horse

Mr Augier will offer personalized readings for 2026, according to your Celestial Mandate, or just your Bazi.

BaZi Dynamics: Solar Fire (Bing Wu)

The Bing Wu pillar is one of the most powerful in the sexagenary cycle. Bing (丙) represents the Sun, and Wu (午) is the sign of the Horse, where Fire reaches its zenith.

Temperament of the year: This is an energy of absolute clarity, visibility and swift action. Unlike the previous year (Wood), Fire does not require slow growth; it explodes and transforms instantly.

Risks: An excess of Fire can lead to impulsiveness, emotional instability or metaphorical ‘fires’ (sudden conflicts, market volatility).

Qi Men Dun Jia Configuration (Year 2026)

Consulting the Year Charts for the year 2026 (Year of Bing Wu):

Overall Structure: The year is marked by a strong presence of the Gate of Studies or the Gate of the Stage (Li Palace), emphasising the themes of reputation and image.

Central Palace: The movement of energies suggests a year of major transition where old structures (Earth) are exhausted by the intensity of Fire.

Annual Feng Shui (Flying Stars)

For 2026, the arrangement of the Flying Stars in the Lo Shu is as follows:

Star 1 (Water) moves to the centre, suggesting that despite the surrounding Fire, wisdom and communication remain the key elements needed to stabilise the year.

Areas of concern: * The North-East hosts Star 5 (Five Yellow), an area to be left undisturbed (no renovations).

The North receives Star 2 (Illness), requiring particular attention to health in this area.
